About Opero

Opero is a cutting-edge shared space for work, networking, and social events. Its highly representative spaces in downtown Prague offer services tailored for leading entrepreneurs and managers seeking new inspiration, representatives of independent professions, companies, and project teams, as well as regional entrepreneurs seeking occasional office space in Prague.

 

Our services can be made available on a regular basis through membership. Members can choose from a range of packaged services that can be changed at any time in keeping with changes to your current needs. In addition to providing services for members, Opero offers spaces for rent for business meetings, seminars, social events, or conferences.

About Opero

Opero is located in the prestigious and long closed historical Štenc House (Štencův dům) on Salvátorská Street in close proximity to Old Town Square. The building was built at the beginning of the 20th century according to a design by leading architect Otakar Novotný and became the most modern printing building of its time in Central Europe. Thanks to its founder and his leading role in the Manes collective, a unique group of notable cultural and social personalities gathered here, including Max Švabinský, Jan Štursa, and Jan Kotěra. Essential works of Czech art history were created in this space brimming with social life.

Opero follows on the tradition of this gathering space and has begun writing the modern history of the Štenc House. The building has undergone a sensitive renovation whose objective was to return the structure to its original historical form while meeting requirements for its functionality and modern technical equipment. In Opero you will find five closed offices, two open spaces intended for work and events, four various meeting and seminar rooms, a cafe, an open atrium, and terraces.

Pavel Přikryl

Pavel is currently giving direction to the entire project and motivating the team with his positive attitude every day. He has years of professional experience in economic advisement. For many years he worked in an international consulting firm that managed extensive projects for corporate clientele and in the last five years he led the consulting division in the area of company strategy, mergers and acquisitions. At present he runs his own business, GROWTHGARAGE, oriented toward consulting while evaluating, executing, and financing new business cases. And yet Pavel is a renaissance man and in addition to his professional track he pursues a range of other interests. In the academic sphere he has earned his doctorate in international studies from Charles University, worked as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at George Washington University, published a book on the topic of American politics in Europe, and taught students at the Faculty of Social Sciences. He has worked with the organization People in Need for a year on their mission in Afghanistan and several other short-term missions. He also plays the violin in the orchestra at Charles University.

Pavel is the owner of the family firm VAFO Praha, which manufactures premium food for dogs and cats. He has succeeded in building this interest into a world-class brand – his Brit food is exported to almost 60 countries throughout the world. Pavel has had an entrepreneurial spirit since secondary school, when he and his classmates founded a production agency that organized company events, concerts, and cultural events. The company continues to operate to this day, albeit without Pavel, and ranks among the leading players in the market. Following his experiences in America he soon joined the family business of his father František and after more than 10 years became its owner. Today Pavel is one of the most notable entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic, and was honored in 2011 as Entrepreneur of the Year for the Prague and Central Bohemian regions. He is the happy father of three sons, a motorcyclist in summer and a snowboarder in winter, and as of last year a yachtsman. Just a man chasing his dreams.

Luboš is a numbers man ever since his studies at the Nuclear and Physical Engineering Faculty of Czech Technical University, through his rich professional career in banking and corporate business, to his current entrepreneurialism in energy and his consulting for growing business projects. Luboš has worked as a financial director and later general manager of eBanka in the period of its successful divestment to the Raiffeisenbank group, as the financial director of Czech Airlines at the time of its strategic restructuring, and in various managerial positions at ČSOB, the Czech Consolidation Agency, Komerční banka, and the Czech National Bank. Today he is the partner in the consulting firm GROWTHGARAGE, but still manages to care for two growing children, prepare tirelessly for the Ironman triathlon, and maintain a single-digit golf handicap.

Bára is a friendly and communicative person who brings life to Opero and works to ensure the maximum satisfaction of our members. She jumps headlong into everything and gives 100% to her passions. She began working at an early age for the University of Pittsburgh, where she acquired diverse experience and came to know many people from all corners of the world, who motivated and inspired her. Bára is a graduate in the field of Economics and Management with a year of experience in Australia and several months in Spain. She has also founded a non-profit organization which achieved numerous successes and earned the Czech PR award in 2014. Her passions include horses, her friends, and her family, with whom she makes it a point to spend time each year either in the mountains, the tropics, or the beautiful places right here in the Czech Republic.

Hanka bristles with unfailing optimism, notices every detail, and sees the big picture, through which she brings structure and energy to Opero. In college she participated in numerous projects, has worked in a recruiting agency, as the assistant to the business director, and marketing project coordinator in FMCG. All of these positions have equipped her with the experience to expand her talents and find a home in event management. In addition to successfully founding a non-profit organization she has spent a year in Seville and several months in Leeds. She loves travelling and photography and actively devotes her time to sport, languages, and learning. She does everything to the fullest and there is no problem she can‘t solve. Hanka brings love for her work to Opero every day and thereby motivates everyone around her.

Iva is the person everyone wants when starting a new project. Her longtime experience in the field of office management has made her an essential person who stands behind the everyday functioning of all of Opero. Iva is full of positive energy and solves any problem with a calm voice and a smile. As part of her work experience she lived for several months in San Francisco and subsequently worked for many years in the non-profit organization US Business School Praha on a wide range of projects for international corporations and family businesses. In addition to travel, family, and yoga, Iva’s passions include dance and pantomime, and in her free time she performs in the Image Black Light Theatre. Her constant optimism, detail orientation, and friendliness make her the right member of this team.
